摘要

This article presents a technique to solve the inverse boundary value problem of coupled thermoelasticity in an infinitely long annular cylinder. If we known the strain history at any point of the cylinder, the boundary time-varying heat flux can be computed. Sub- sequently, the distributions of temperature and thermal stresses in the cylinder at various times can be determined. The surface heat flux is determined by minimizing the sum of squares of the deviation between the calculated and measured strains in the cylinder.
