摘要

In this paper, we present the analysis, life prediction and a new design for pressure washer drums used in pulp and paper industry. The paper presents the finite element modeling and experimental testing of the existing drum design, discusses problem areas in the design and identifies various design modifications leading to the new design of the equipment. Life prediction for the new design is evaluated based on the use of standard crack and crack propagation models available in finite element and other fracture mechanics commercial programs.
