We prepared bulk ceramics and thin films in the La_1-xCa_xMnO_3 system. The ceramics (x=0.25, 0.33) were prepared by standard techniques with a final sintering at 1300 deg.C. the thin ilms were prepared on MgO (100) substrates by excimer laser ablation, using the bulk material as a target, and by aerosol-assisted MOCVD. In both methods a substrate temperature of 630 deg.C was necessary to promote epitaxial growth. The bulk materials and the thin films presented a ferromagnetic phase transition, associated with a maximum of resistance as function of temperature.
