摘要

The Linde/Yukong 1,4 butane-diol process represents a commercially attractive acetylene processing system. The significant features of the Linde/Yukong process are: 1. low acetylene pressure ( < 1.4 bar) in the butyne-diol synthesis process, i.e. below the spontaneous decomposition pressure for acetylene. 2. low hydrogenation pressure in both stages (20-25 bar). 3. high level of reliability and safety. 4. high yield of 1,4 butane-diol. 5. newly-developed catalysts active and selective at low process pressures. 6. high flexibility in application. 7. modern separation technologies for the suspension catalysts. Compared with the commercial, acetylene-based butane-diol process, the new development represents a clear improvement in profitability, reliability and safety. The acetylene route — by which the great majority of 1,4 butane-diol continues to be produced, will therefore continue to represent an extremely competitive process concept in comparison with those routes taking other raw materials as their starting point.
