摘要

This report analyses the retail market for air fresheners and insecticides in Spain. The time period covered is 1994-1998 and forecasts are made to the year 2003. For the purposes of the study, the market is divided into two broad sectors: 1. Air fresheners: consists of products intended to perfume rooms and suppress or neutralise odours in aerosol/spray, electric and solid/liquid formats. 2. Insecticides: encompasses products intended to kill crawling and flying insects in aerosol/spray, electric, powder and trap formats. For the purposes of this report, the air fresheners sector is restricted to regular room deodorisers, odour neutralises and carpet fresheners. As a result, potpourris, aromatic candles and other mood-enhancing fragrances are excluded, as are in-car air fresheners and electrical appliances such as air purifiers. The insecticides sector focuses on chemicals which kill or inhibit indoor household insect pests. Consequently, products for use on vermin such as rodents are not covered, neither are agricultural and garden insecticides. Personal insect repellents are also excluded, although they may be referred to in a market background section. Direct sales to institutions are excluded from this report, although some products intended for household purposes are used in offices, hotels, catering and other establishments.
