The fibrillation characteristic of Tencel has contributed to its significant application in the fashion industry. However, the production of easy-care Tencel textiles requires fibrillation control. Fibrillation affects both the physical and aesthetic properties of apparel fabrics. The appearance of fibrils after domestic washing causes graying and creasing of fabrics. Fibrillation is not a distinct characteristic of Tencel fiber.
