摘要

Sewing needle is an important element of the sewing machine. Although it is a small part, it has a huge influence on the seam quality. The aim of this investigation is to determine how long the needle can be used and in the same time without influenced change in the seam quality.rnThe seam quality properties are evaluated in terms of the seam strength and seam elongation. With long usage time of the needle in the sewing process the seam strength reduced and the seam elongation increased. Photos of the seam lines are shown to describe the defection of the points according to the long time of using the needle. Some photos of the surface of the needle are taken before and after different usage time to explain the problems of the seam quality which caused by the needle.
