Donut Dolly: An American Red Cross Girl's War in Vietnam is the riveting first-hand account of Joann Puffer Kotcher's experiences as a program director for the American Red Cross in the early years of the Vietnam War. Military Assistance Command-Vietnam granted the Red Cross permission to provide recreation for troops anywhere in the combat zone, thus officially permitting women in the battle zone for the first time.
