AgustaWestland sold eight AW-159 helicopters to the Korean Navy, under a contract also including training and initial logistic support. The deliveries to Korea are due to start in 2015 and to be completed by 2016. The Korean AW-159 will be equipped with an active dipping sonar, a surface surveillance radar with a 360° scansion, an EO sensor in under nose mounting, torpedoes, anti-ship missiles and machine guns. Previously, the UK MoD ordered 62 AW-159 to be supplied to the Royal Navy and Royal Army.
