A couple of months ago, I heard an amazing rendition, by a Welsh male voice choir, of the well-known hymn 'How great Thou art'. The hymn contains the words ".....when I in awesome wonder, consider all the works Thy hands hath made." As I listened, the words "awesome wonder" thundered, and lingered after the performance. Although not the communication of the hymn intended by its 19th century Swedish author Carl Boberg, for me these words resonated with the issue that is of core importance for the dairy industry - the lack of value that society places on the knowledge and work that is involved in 24/7 milk production.
