Andrew Brewer's farm has 650 spring calving cows on a total farm area of 290ha. Brewer's scholarship will allow him to focus on the development of the next generation of dairy technicians. Says Brewer: "Many farmers have huge issues attracting and retaining good staff and I want to help address that. I believe we can only do this by starting to attract young people to dairy farming at a much younger age. We need to persuade youngsters at primary school level that this is an attractive, profitable career."
