Someone said to me yesterday: 'Isn't this sunny weather glorious?' I replied that it wasn't sunny weather it was a drought. 'Oh you farmers, you are never satisfied.' Which is perfectly true, but then how could we be? I have crops of spring wheat and newly sown grass seeds, that would, if they had them, have their tongues hanging out for a drink. It's important they get that drink before long because both are expected to provide silage and hence feed for next winter. But on other fields it's a different matter, there we have grass crops that need cutting.
