Dairy UK is hosting a free workshop with F-Gas Support in June to give members the chance to discuss new EU rules on refrigerants. The F-Gas Regulation came in last year, but a review of compliance and effectiveness is due in 2011. F-Gas Support has been tasked by Defra with helping UK companies to manage their emissions better. As heavy users of refrigeration, dairy companies figure on the list of 200 UK companies responsible for 80% of F-gas emissions. If progress is deemed insufficient by 2011, further regulation may be launched.
