The National Library of Australia's work and its diverse and valuable collections inspire people in many ways. Recently, Maxine Poynton Baker bequeathed a major gift to the Library in memory of her friend, Australian playwright and critic Sydney Tomholt. Maxine's important gift demonstrates how the Library can inspire a person to make a lasting contribution. At her request, her estate will be used for the acquisition and preservation of collection material, thereby enhancing access to the Library's remarkable collections.
