摘要

With unanimous political consensus and wide public support, NATO membership and accession to EU have been defined to be the national priorities for the Republic of Bulgaria. Hence the tendencies for building and developing the national security system have been identified unambiguously. Being a component of that system, the Bulgarian armed forces play a leading part in creating conditions, which enable our country to be a factor generating security on a regional and global scale. In this context, the Bulgarian Navy is directly committed to defend national sovereignty and to protect national interests by integrating in the NATO collective security system and assuming particular responsibilities with respect to EU security.
