摘要

This Paper outlines the hardware technology used in the supercomputer SX-4. The SX-4 has achieved higher cost-performance and scalability by using CMOS technology. The technology has such features as full-custom LSIs integrating 4 million transistors and 808 pins, specific gate arrays, circuit technology for high-performance, high-density packaging, high-performance power supplies, and high-efficiency cooling systems. All the technologies are contained in an improved cabinet minimizing installation area.
