Germany's major commercial broadcasters, which have long been cautious about multichannel expansion, are finally set to embrace digital television across a range of platforms. RTL chief executive Gerhard Zeiler said this week that the company was developing a pay-television strategy across Europe. It is active in most European countries including Germany, France, Spain and the Benelux countries.
