Rupert Murdoch has hit out at digital-terrestrial subsidies in Italy, calling for all operators in the market to be treated equally. The News Corporation and Sky Italia chairman's comments come as the Italian minister for E-com-munications, Mario Landolfi, has pledged ?150 million to "new incentives" for digital-terrestrial television. Visiting Rome this week, Murdoch noted that the number of digital-terrestrial decoders in Italy could soon outstrip the satellite platform's 3.3 million subscribers.
