A supersite is a production plant with integrated raw material production, airlaid diaper production, festooning and final diaper converting. The supersite produces everything from raw materials to the final diaper. Supersites for the production of automobiles are well known. Volumes and product complexity have so far not been significant enough to justify a supersite within the nonwovens industry. Recent developments in production technologies for hygiene products indicate that supersites are feasible for production of hygienic products.
