Service assurance is coming to the fore as an issue, driven largely by the increasing pace of NFV/SDN adoption. At Light Reading's "OSS in the Era of SDN & NFV" conference in London earlier this month, service assurance figured heavily – noticeably more so than last year. This month also saw the announcement of ETSI Open Source MANO (ETSI OSM) Release Three, which includes a large set of new capabilities, including new service assurance and monitoring capabilities. Needless to say, the Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) open source project also has service assurance on its radar.
