As time draws near for the June 17 meeting that will decide El Paso Corporation's future, both sides continued to use a take-no prisoners approach in their effort to win over anxious shareholders. In the weeks leading up to the meeting, El Paso released a letter urging shareholders to back its own slate of 12 directors instead of the team proposed by dissident shareholder Selim Zilkga. In a lengthy letter to the shareholders that was released publicly, interim Chairman and CEO Ronald L. Kuehn, Jr. was quick to team Zilkha with his ally. Oscar Wyatt, who sold his Coastal Corp. to El Paso in 2000. In his own public comments, Zilkha does not refer to Wyatt unless secifically asked.
