摘要

Arizona regulators last week gave a group of Southwestern utilities permission to build a 500-kV power line from the Palo Verde hub to Yuma, Arizona, a move that could lead to greater transfer capability between California and Arizona. Arizona Public Service is spearheading the effort on the roughly $205 million, 122-mile line. Salt River Project, the Imperial Irrigation District, which serves California's Imperial Valley, and the Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District are expected to become owners, according to a filing with the Arizona Corporation Commission, which unanimously approved the project January 15.
