The Mississippi Public Service Commission expects legislation to be introduced this week into the state Legislature that would allow Entergy to recover upfront some portion of the cost of construction of a nuclear plant. "Nothing has been introduced yet, but I think there will be. With the substantial costs involved to build a nuclear plant, states are looking for ways to get investors interested," said Robert Waites, executive director of the PSC. Nothing has been introduced yet, but Governor Haley Barbour said in his State of the State address last week that the expected cost of the plant would be more than $5 billion.
