The Midwest Independent System Transmission Operator's proposed new method of processing transmission interconnection requests places overly onerous conditions on competitive electric suppliers, the Electric Power Supply Association said last week. EPSA asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a technical conference to tackle issues in MISO's proposed new method of processing interconnection requests, submitted to FERC in late June. Like a number of regional transmission operators, MISO is struggling with a massively backlogged interconnection queue.
