Full-power tests on hydraulic units form a traditional line of activity for the HES section of the ORGRES company. In recent years, on account of the halt in the installation of new units in the country's hydroelectricity, the main volume of these working tests either by absolute or index methods have been done with units that have been reconstructed. Experience has shown that comprehensive working tests should be done at a single working head after the replacement of basic equipment (the tests should preferably be done at a head close to the design value), which should include tests by the index method, the determination of the mechanical state of the unit by vibrational testing, and in some cases by checking the regulation guarantees. These comprehensive working tests provide a decision on whether the evidence is already adequate (if the energy parameters and mechanical state fit the characteristics guaranteed by the manufacturer and existing standards concerned with them) or whether one should perform additional tests to an extent necessary to determine the causes of any deficiencies (for example, a considerable difference between the existing turbine performance and the optimum value, or an unsatisfactory mechanical state in the unit).
