The day before Max '06, distributors Ripmax hosted the Modelling Press at Wroughton airfield. This was an opportunity to meet their staff and to try some of the products they distribute. Members of the display team were on hand to assist and set up the models. Four flight lines were in operation all of which were kept busy and everyone had the chance to fly and examine all of the models. My first flight was with the de Havilland Comet Racer, one of which was reviewed in the August issue of RCMW by Steve Holland with twin electric power. This one had a pair of OS52 four-strokes and had plenty of power. It was interesting to fly this glow-powered version as I had already tried the review electric version. Flight performance was very similar, with the I/C version having a seemingly apparent edge in power. The DH88 Comet is from the Advanced Scale Models range of high quality scale designs and has a span of 88" with a plug-in wing panel system and is priced at £299.99 with optional retracts available.
