Boosting rail transport volumes is one of the most effective ways of achieving sustainable mobility On 17 April, the study on the "External costs of transport (accident, environmental and congestion costs) in western Europe", compiled by independent consultants INFRAS (Zurich) and IWW (University of Karlsruhe), was unveiled at the European Parliament in Brussels. The presentation took place under the patronage of Marie-Noeelle Lienemann, Vice-Chairwoman of the European Parliament, Rijk van Dam, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Regional Policy, Transport and Tourism and Gilles Savary, Transport Committee member and was attended by Miguel Corsini, UIC Chairman, Louis Gallois, CER Chairman and the consultants responsible for carrying out the study.
