摘要

The Human Genome Project (HGP) information site serves as an archive and provides information about the project's history, research and areas of impact. The HGP aimed to identify all the genes and sequences that make up human DNA; build a database of the information; improve analysis tools; transfer technologies to the private sector; and address related ethical and social issues. According to the site statistics it contains over 4,000 files including webpages, publications, newsletters, image files, teaching aids and links to related resources. Most documents were created by the US Department of Energy Genome Program's Biological and Environmental Research Information System (BERIS).
