The appropriateness of the present EPA Hearing Protector Labeling Regulations and Procedures has been of major concern for several years. As a result of this concern by professional, industrial and government sources, the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) established and sponsored a Task Force on Hearing Protector Effectiveness to address labeling related issues. The workings of the Task Force have been completed and its recommendations are presented herein (see page 18) and are discussed from the author's point of view.
