At the 2015 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Chicago, the LITA/ALCTS Authority Control Interest Group (ACIG) convened three speakers to discuss current issues related to authority control. Topics included updates from the Library of Congress, the importance of authority control and how to talk about it, and a proposal for creating a versioning system for authorities. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A. Presenters were introduced by Nathan B. Putnam (University of Maryland), current chair of ACIG. A fourth presentation was canceled due to blizzard conditions in the area. In lieu of the last presentation, the audience was invited to talk and discuss any topic concerning authority control. The presentations and group discussion were followed by a business meeting.
