A state-of-the-art plant for manufacturing carbon fibre for use in BMW's electric-powered cars is to be built in Moses Lake, Washington, USA. The company behind the scheme is SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers LLC, a joint venture between carbon fibre and composite specialist SGL Group (holder of a 51% stake) and the BMW Group (49%). During the initial phase, the company will invest US$100 million and create 80 jobs.
