Increasing functional integration into textile products leads to new applications and textile developments called "Smart Textiles". In particular, there is a growing demand for mobile power supplies in the areas of communication, sports and leisure, occupational health and safety, and personal health care, as well as medical technology (e.g. sensors for vital signs monitoring). As a result of miniaturization the use of mobile electronic devices continually increases.
