Visitors were fewer than last year but most visitors were not concerned about it. On the whole, there was a very genuine positive mood throughout the fair. Perhaps a bit all encompassing? Ok, but there is not another fair of this calibre that mirrors the world with respect to home and commercial textiles for use in the interior environment that fills our lives. This year from 11 to 14 January, Frankfurt was the city and Messe Frankfurt the focus if one wished to view the full spectrum of world suppliers in these important segments. The exhibitor count increased from last year by 2.4% to 2,634 representing 61 countries. Mirroring the real world of commerce, 54% of the exhibitors were Asian with China alone at 441 companies followed by India at 385. German companies are now in third place with 344 exhibitors.
