Despite the approval of the textile policy for the five-year period of 2009-14, the skill development program has not started yet although the first year of the five-year plan has now passed. The reason, it is said, is that no funding has yet been allocated.rnHowever, now that the 2010-11 budget has been approved, there is hope that a proposal which the Planning Commission recently presented to the four provincial governments for providing training to 500,000 workers in garment manufacturing could start soon.
