With the cost of energy steadily rising, many house owners are considering cheap and long lasting solutions to reduce the energy balance of their new or existing buildings. One such solution is glass fiber reinforced facade cladding. In this process, relatively cheap polystyrene foam is attached to the outside of existing or new walls of a building. A thin layer of plaster or cement mixture is then placed on top, reinforced by a glass fiber grid structure. Often this top layer is already in the desired color to avoid the need for additional painting.
