摘要

Rapid advancement of technology in the field of textiles has resulted in emergence of a large variety of fibres and fabrics in the market. Ready recognition and identification of fibre content in fabrics has become extremely difficult. In this regard the consumer has the greatest handicap in identifying fibre content of various fabrics. Most of the times reliance is placed on the integrity of the manufacturer and the retailer while making such purchases. Most of the consumers are not aware that according to the Textile Order of 1993 every person dealing with the fabrics should be aware dealing with the fabrics should be aware of the markings to be made on it in order to serve the consumers better.
