On 15 January 2019 the London region were treated to an update in paint technology covering colour trends, why we see colour variation and colour perception including digital tools in a presentation by Pepe Francis, regional sales manager and Geoff Martin technical representative, both from AkzoNobel The presenters discussed that as cars become very similar in shape due to aerodynamics, manufacturers are increasingly turning to brighter and cleaner colours to sell vehicles. Therefore, three stage candy colours are becoming the norm, made up from a reflective absorptive layer, translucent layer and followed by a clear top coat.
