An operator has equipment which is not compatible with continuous monitoring of 121.5MHz whilst in UK airspace.There is a temporary alleviation in place for this from the CAA but this would seem at odds with the security need to maintain a listening watch.This issue will be of particular importance during the Olympics nextyear.This issue is being jointly progressed with the BALPA Security Group.Ian Moorman and Phil Smith of the FSG have put considerable effort into the content and layout of this section of the BALPA website.
