We discuss a numerical method that accounts for higher order resonant excitation of ship hull girder vibrations. Nonlinearities related to hydrodynamic added mass and damping are implicitly captured to account for forward speed effects, instantaneous wave elevations, etc. Systematic numerical investigations compared well with model tests.
