摘要

Just over a year after starting the job, Scania' boss in the UK makes no immodest claims about having a shinier crystal ball than his rivals, yet he does seem to have been better-prepared than most for all the recent truck-market mayhem. Tim Blakemore met him to find out why and how. Who could blame Hans-Christer Holgersson if, as he prepared for his new job as managing director of Scania (Great Britain), starting on 1 September 2007, he was quietly looking forward to a plum posting? After all, Scania's overall group finances were in even ruder health than normal with net sales for the year to December 2007 heading for a 19 per cent increase on 2007, to nearly €9 billion, and net profit margin growing from 8.4 to an even more remarkable 10.1 per cent.
