This thoughtful paper explains clearly the difference between error, malpractice and adverse outcomes within radiology, and discusses common mistakes made. Interestingly, it describes what effects accusations of malpractice may have on health professionals and also touches on how legal issues influence radiology practice. The good news is that the percentage of medical practice lawsuits attributed to radiology remains small – no room for complacency though.
