As part of the city of Manassas Capital Improvement Program, Manassas' water transmission main line has been slated for an upgrade, replacing the 24-inch water transmission main line with a 36-inch main line. The current 45-year old water main line has served the city well, but now that the line is approaching its useful life, it is being replaced with a water main line to supply the higher-demand for water, especially in the summer months, as well as improve overall system performance.
