Led by the European Space Agency, ExoMars, which stands forrnExobiology on Mars, would use a rover to search for signs of life on the red planet and examine the geology. The mission, which would last six months and launch possibly in 2018, is the flagship mission of ESA's Aurora program. In addition to the rover, ExoMars will also require an orbiter and a descent module. Powered by solar cells, the rover would have a 40-kilogram maximum pay-load capability.
