No matter what the location and what the application, when a storage tank is utilizedrnfor collecting and storing water, the first decision is generally whether to place a vesselrnabove ground or under ground. In certain climates, aboveground storage is either not anrnoption, or is an expensive choice, because it would require extensive protection againstrnfreezing.rnIn any climate, the pressing issue in more and more locations is about the judicious use of space. Property can be a scarce and expensive commodity, even in down markets. Therefore, collecting and storing water underground has a significant advantage for property owners. Choosing an underground storage system allows for the maximum use of property, allowing for more green space and/or parking on a tight commercial site, for instance. And even when there is plenty of space, using underground storage results in a more aesthetically pleasing site.
