摘要

Thank you for your recent articles in Water Flying. They are very well done and extremely interesting to me. I have wanted to do the kind of travel to lakes in southeast Alaska by seaplane that you do but have been very slow in getting to it. The two things which have most prevented it from happening have been job and marriage commitments for a long while. Both of these will be much reduced in the next few years for me. To that end I have been working towards fitting a Glastar Sportsman to floats (still a project) while eyeing the idea of floating my currently wheeled Super Cub as an alternative to the Sportsman. When I take the Cub on long trips it is barely a one-seat airplane. Friends tell me I should just chuck these ideas altogether and look for one good floated C-185 and press on. This does make some sense. And each day we do get a day older. I will be 62 next year and have spent 30 years with various airlines but have done very little with seaplanes since getting the rating in the early eighties, so I am off to a late start. But I hope that will change.
