SPA has a pair of initiatives that are achieving two important goals: attracting people to seaplane flying, and growing the association's membership.The first initiative is a program whereby seaplane schools and instructors invite a newly rated seaplane pilot to take advantage of a free six-month membership in SPA. The school or instructor gives the student a form to complete and send to SPA to activate the membership. The new member then receives Water Flying magazine and all other member communications, thus keeping them connected to the larger seaplane community at a time when they are the most excited and energized to pursue their new-found passion.
