2015 is well under way and I can assure you that it will be a year full of change here at SPA. We look forward to turning on our next-generation website, adding the destination and event guide to the Water Landing Directory app, and increasing the number of our volunteer advocates, just to name a few of the changes coming. It has been a frigid and snowy winter for many of our members who live in the north central and northeastern states, but I hope those of you who switch to skis have made the best of these conditions by getting out and enjoying some white-water flying. If you have never flown skis (myself included-I tried last May in Alaska, but due to an unusually warm and dry winter I ended up flying 30-inch tires on a PA-22 with Don Lee and Mark Twombly, our editor), we have a great article on ski flying from Alaska Super Cub owner and pilot Katie Writer. I am sure you will find it interesting whether or not you've ever traded floats for skis for winter flying.
