We received many letters expressing congratulations and interest in the new SPA Foundation announced in the January/February Water Flying.rnMany asked how the Foundation's mission will differ from SPA's advocacy work. The lead story in this issue is a prime illustration of how the Foundation will take SPA to the next level in proactive advocacy on behalf of the entire water flying community.rnFrom coast to coast, community concern about the growing problem of water body infestation by invasive aquatic species is changing the tenor of water recreation management and regulation. In some waters, powerboats have been completely banned. Strictly enforced, highly restrictive regulatory practices dramatically alter the very culture of water recreation in other areas.
