Mobile communications are becoming increasingly necessary in all aspects of professional and personal life. Mobile technology is constantly evolving as we enter the era of third-generation systems. The mobile market has seen huge growth over recent years, with a particular surge in the 1999-2000 period. With competition and the need for mobile telephony growing in developed markets, the race is on amongst national mobile operators to retain, and where possible, increase their existing subscriber base.
