Die Vielzahl verschiedener Feldbusvarianten ist seit jeher ein Ärgernis für neutrale Gerätehersteller, müssen sie doch mit viel Aufwand diese Vielfalt unterstützen. Zusätzlich sind diese herkömmlichen Feldbusse den Anforderungen an eine moderne Kommunikationstechnik bei weitem nicht gewachsen. Es wird daher Zeit, dass sich die Hersteller von Automatisierungsgeräten auf einen einheitlichen Kommunikationsstandard einigen. Vom PC bekannte Ansätze mit Ethernet, wie TCP/IP, UDP/IP, FTP und HTTP, bieten sich hier als Lösungen an.%The great variety of field bus variants has ever since been a constant nuisance to neutral equipment manufacturers since they are compelled to support this variety at great expense. In addition to this, these conventional field buses are by far not capable of meeting the requirements of modern communications technology. Thus, it is high time for the manufacturers of automation equipment to reach agreement about a consistent communication standard. Approaches known from the PC using Ethernet, such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, FTP and HTTP, seam to be appropriate solutions for this purpose.
